Asus Eee Notebook1) This is a wonderful little PC. It’s speedy and is very lightweight. You can tote it anywhere, it connects to wireless effortlessly. The office programs are not trials, but, light versions that I can live with (or Open Office). I purchased two of these, the other was a gift. I love mine, especially the portability, with the matte screen it’s been spending a lot of time out on my porch.
2) I purchased the Asus EU17-WT Netbook for my daughter who’s “hand-me down” lap top finally died. Among the important considerations for this purchase was battery life. So far, the 2+ hours of between charge usage she is experiencing is adequate…and a big improvement over her recent loss. Her only complaint to date (she has had the Asus for about 2-weeks) is the inability to change the screen saver. The basic Windows 7 operating system, which is preloaded on the Asus EU17, apparently does not allow for this customization according to my computer-competent elder son. We’ll look into this further, but this seems to be the case unless you upgrade the OS to a full Home or Professional system.
